Afghan, Beaded "doga" Tassel

Both decorative (to us) and protective (to its maker) who made it to ward off the Evil Eye, note those "blue" beads.

We carry a range of these beaded tassels in our shop, but are including a few of the best here on our website.

We simply hang them for their visual appeal, however Belly Dancers happily put them to a more active use attached to their outfits.

This one features the ancient triangular (female fertility derived) protective symbol, ubiquitous throughout the Middle East and Central Asia and often seen as Turkoman "doga" worn on childrens clothing and jewellery.

Probably Pashtun and from either Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Age: Last Decade.

Size: H 140 mm x W 125 mm
