"Ancient Greek" 22 ct. Gold Earhoops.

A superb pair of very simple primitive 22 ct. gold earhoops from Greece, with suspended beaten sheet tubes and lozenges.

They could very easily pass as "Ancient" but I believe they are less than a decade old.

The gold has a lovely "primitive" or non specific historic feel, reminiscent of Middle Eastern and Mediterannean pieces..

The colour and finish are real Gold, like you see in Museums, not the shiny sort you find in Mainstream Gold Jewellery Shops!

("That vulgar yellow stuff" I call it, no these are the right Gold, the tasteful one.)

Very simple and rustic with only a tiny hint of twisted filigree (either end of the tubes) they hang from a strong but wearable tapered hoop about 1.6 mm thick (14 gauge) and they are a comfortable weight definitely not too heavy.

We call them earhoops as they are suspended from a hoop, they still have movement but start at the ear with something other than the ordinary hook. Consequently there's an exoticism, an overall look of another culture than ours.

Age: Contemporary.

Size: H 49 mm x W 21 mm.
