Bactrian Small Bronze "Horse" Weight

A small, lost wax cast (“cire perdue”) freestanding bronze weight.

In the form of a standing, stylized “Horse” with sculpted hips and implied eyes, tail, mouth and ridge of mane.

Age has given it a fairly dark patina, with an overall textured matte green tone.

No scratches.

In excellent condition, with it’s flaired hooves it resembles a “Trojan Horse”.

I assume it was used as a weight, but, just as easily, it may be a votive offering?

Age: Circa 300 BC – 400 AD.

Size: L 47mm x W 15mm x H 54mm

Weight: 63 grams
