Afghan, Silver Sunstone Ring
An impressively masculine, old Afghan silver ring, with serrated teeth clutching an "ovalish" dome of warm, glittering, mid brown "Sunstone" flecked with tiny light catching "glints".
The 8 mm silver band around the finger has a bold design stamped into its surface, with embossed braces supporting the raised "wire twist" bezel.
It's a good sized ring for a more than medium finger, fitting a Size "T" (US 9 5/8) and could happily suit any gender.
I've taken the liberty of polishing the silver to bring up the contrast between the raised and recessed surfaces. But before that it had a dull "pewterish" patina of age, now it looks richer and re-awakened.
Age: Late 20th Century.
