Algerian, Enamelled Silver Ring.

Sorry, this colourful ring is no longer available. We may however have some similar ones.

A brightly coloured Algerian Silver Ring, its circular face has a scallopped edge, with a raised in a boss decorated  with deep blue, lime green and eggyolk yellow enamel.

From the "Greater Kabylia" region of Northern Algeria.

It's relatively new and in perfect condition with a bold design defined with wire "cloisonnes" that seperate the coloured enamels, all surrounding a central raised silver  knob.

Then there's the fact these are actually genuine baked glass enamels to be savoured!

The lightly ribbed broad (6 mm) band, would fit a finger about Size "S" (US 9.12)

A  careful polish with a dry Silver Polishing Cloth, when you think it needs it, will reveal the detail of its silver outlines within the rich colour fields.

Just what you'd want in a Algerian ring, but we may have others and even some older ones, see also MR101, MR102, MR103 or just search Algerian to see rings, pendants and earrings too.

As with all our stock, supplies are very limited, so if it's your size and you can afford it don't hesitate too long! Snap it up!

Incidentally, the background is a "khan atlas" silk ikat "Jelak" (womans' small colourful coat with vestigial sleeves, worn over the head ) from Uzbekistan. There may still be some of these little treasures in our Textiles, but they are quite sort after.

Age: Late 20th Century.

Size: Face 18 mm

Weight: 8 grams.
