Pakistani, Multan Enamelled Ring

Sorry, this lovely ring is no longer available.

An interesting, quite colourful silver thumb ring from Multan in southern Pakistan.

With a solar design of slightly raised silver which has been flooded with deep "lapis" blue, "turquoise", yellow and deep "coral" coloured  glass enamel, all applied as a paste then baked on.

The silver "lemon juicer" knob has some smoothing wear and there is some enamel missing at the back, whilst the front is still in pretty good condition. But these blemishes really only add to its charm.

Including the knob (which can be worn up or down the finger/thumb) it measures 25 mm along the finger and the scallopped edged band tapers down to 11mm at the back. (this taper allows for comfortable wear, bend your thumb and look at the difference on the outer and inside.)

I don't think it needs any polishing, but when and if you do, give it a careful light polish with a dry "Silver Polishing Cloth" just to wake it up.

We may also have another similar ring see also TE113.
