Indian, Turquoise and Red Coral Silver Pendant

A naive Rajasthani Silver Bird Pendant, either “chook” or “Peacock”,
both turn up in Tribal embroideries of the region, the end result being rather fanciful, though that could be a peacok tail(?)
Rough cut chunks of variously coloured turquoise and genuine Red Coral have been set, possibly using a dark resin.
(I wouldn’t attack with even hot soapy water, as it may affect this colour.
The thick plain ring (with 5mm holes) allows suspension only from chain or cord.

The rattling, silver dangles add to it’s overall charm,
(this and IP 001 were got ten years ago, squirrelled away till now, to be made up into amazing pieces. But I’m letting them go..)

Age: Mid/ Late 20 th Century.

Size: W 50 mm x H 55 mm

Weight: 14 grams
