Kazak, Carnelian, Turquoise and Pearl Earrings

A superb pair of gilt silver, hollow Kazak spearlike ear pendants, suspended from hoops.

Each with wedges of Kazak silver “false granulation,” two small turquoises and six knobbly baroque pearls on wire wrapped dangles.

Very similar to Tekke Turkoman work, but to me there are too many Kazak features in the details.

Hanging from original silver, easy opening/closing, “hooplike” hook, slightly thicker than average, but not excessive ( about 16 gauge or 1.29 mm.)

Not too heavy (if you’re practiced) as they are hollow, reverse is plain silver.

Some grime adds to the romance, and purists will appreciate this.

We haven’t polished these and they have “pockets” of grime in corners and covering some of the turquoises, a cotton bud with warm soapy water, should gradually reduce this layer, don’t get carried away.
