Kazak, Carnelian and Silver Pendant

Sorry, this pendant is no longer available. However, we may still have a similar one with a blue stone.

A blocky, square silver pendant, like a silver box, with raised/sloping sides.
Covered in fine silver wire filigree patterns, enclosing a central, flat, deep red Carnelian.
Decorated with false granulation/stamped triangles and applied filigree spirals (even over the stone) against a dark oxidized background.
On the top two closely spaced broad suspension rings (6mm) could comfortably take a cord or chain, but are too far apart for a choker.
It’s probably filled/reinforced with resin, as it is solidly weighty.
In good condition, except for a minor manufacturing error in the centre filigree, it’s not detached, it’s a tiny mistake!
A light polish with a dry cloth will bring out these details nicely, should you so desire.
The back is too shiny for it to be very old, probably late last century.
The front however has a nice relaxed patina.
A careful polish with a dry cloth would pick out the detail, if you like to.
Some minor wear to the filigree detail, but hardly worth mentioning.

Age: Late 20th Century.

Size: W 54 mm x H 60 mm

Weight: 77 grams
