Uzbek, Gilt Silver Earrings.

Sorry this pair of earrings is no longer available.

Gilt silver filigree “Uzbek style” earrings (or earhoops) made by refugee Uzbek or Turkoman Silversmiths in Northern Afghanistan.

Basically a triangle with filigree infill and dangling stones.

They’re double sided with prominent round Turquoises and dangling faceted Indian “Rubies”, Afghan “Emeralds” and Pearls.

The gilt has a convincingly warm shiny 22 ct glow to it, gently swaying from the hoop, silhouetting delicately against your hair.

Whilst they aren’t old, I consider these to be very wearable contemporary Tribal Costume Jewellery.

Perfect for sophisticated Belly Dancers, light with fine, colourful detail, but not too long for general wear.

The silver (possibly less than sterling) wire for the ear, though thicker than a normal earwire is still of an easily worn size.

For variations on this “gilt” design, each slightly different, see also UE207, UE208 & UE210, if they are still available.

Age: 21st Century.

Size: H 59 mm x W 28 mm.

Weight: 15 grams
